The Miracle of Toast

[Delicious and Astounding Things] I just can't say enough good things about toast. It's warm and crunchy; it's easy to prepare; as a butter-delivery system, it's unbeatable. On a winter's day, "toastiness" is a state much to be desired.

Jerre recently sent me a list of Murphy's-like laws, one of which was about how the jelly side of toast always lands face down. I prefer toast to be savory not sweet, but I'm pretty sure that the law applies to a buttered side, too. (Strangely, there does seem to be some actual experimental data supporting this. Either that, or some people were hoaxing the journals again.)

Some have even theorized about ways to benefit mankind by combining this principle with the fact that a cat always lands on its paws.
