Got Any Change?

[Politics] Any of you Obama lovers want to believe in some change tonight, you can do so at the Barack Obama fund-raiser, Phillips Gallery (444 E. 200 South), starting at 6 p.m. The George Brown Quintet will be playing; say hello to that handsome keyboardist if you get a chance.

Here's an interesting discussion from earlier in the year about the Obama campaign logo--it's mainly a forum for graphics-design geeks, but an occasional neocon troll pops up in the middle of a discussion regarding the relative merits of Obama's use of sans-serif vs. serif typefaces; then, out of the blue comes a hysterical neocon who is aghast that the logo uses stripes but not stars--meaning, obviously, that Obama plans to become the One World Ruler. Good stuff!

  1. Neocon troll? That's right, man, any of us who don't think Barry Obama is fit to be our president, are "NEOCONS." What a self-righteous, disrespectful prick you must be.

  2. Is neocon the new liberal? For so long I have searched for a name that has such negative contations that once the label is applied it renders the wearer unworthy. Only this time it is for people like Zach! Maybe American CAN be great again!
    Go Barry!

  3. You got it, george w--I like using "neocon" because it makes up for all those years right-wingers kept trying to redefine "liberal."

And also, I like that little popping sound their forehead veins make. (bb)

Man, i wish I was as smart and sophisticated as you guys. Way to fight back on terminology.

So, since you're intellectually on par with grammar schoolers....

The qualm this guy had with the term "neocon" is that it insinuates either an individual entirely driven by foreign policy, or a liberal turned right based on foreign policy.

So it's not comparable with "liberal", mostly due to the fact that the original use of the term called out an individual that was not a fan of Barry Hussein, insinuating that their entire political stance is related to something the blogger could not truly define.

In short, you're a pack of buzz word idealogues. Me? I just think you're entirely misguided by the perception of doing what you think is the 'right thing to do' or will 'restore America's image in the world.'

While you're doing that, the rest of us will worry about the real problems and how to solve them. I sure hope you can will the Russians to like us so much that they won't be territorial conquerers.

Then again, I wouldn't expect you to understand the difference between Russia pushing into Georgia, and a Multi-national force invading Iraq over a clearly defined violation of a UN mandate.

Then again, I wouldn't expect much of you at all.

You'll get what you ask for.

  5. Speaking of that popping sound, John Kerry there must have had an aneurysm. Isn't it nice to say something then have a guy bend over backwards to prove YOUR point?

Did the kid with the little brain forget that our invasion of Iraq was not sanctioned by the UN Security Council and was in direct violation of the UN's founding charter ?

Don't go citing UN mandates, unless you are willing to accept that they apply to you then
