[Comedy] Comedian Katt Williams is coming to town Feb. 23. SmithsTix felt the need to provide a "mature content" disclaimer, which might as well read "this dude is black, watch out whiteys." I've seen plenty of other outrageous comedians roll through SLC without ticket outlets noting their potentially offensive humor.
The following clip contains "mature content."

So you felt that the "mature content" label implied "watch out, whiteys" because he's the only comedian to have that advertised?
ReplyDeleteOh, I see--its because of the "racial" aspect of his comedy, I get it.
Yeah, I've seen him on Comedy Central and, boy, does he sure hate white people.
Hey, I've got an idea: let's put emphasis on his extreme hatred for whitey in hopes of discouraging ticket sales!
That'll learn 'im!
Actually, if you sell tickets in this town you have a responsibility to inform potential ticket buyers if the language contains F--- and M-----f----- since a large number of people who like comedy do not like and do not use those words. Race has nothing to do with it. It simply makes sense from a customer service point of view.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, presfan1.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, in the unlikely event that a reader doesn't understand where I was coming from in my first comment: I was being extremely sarcastic.
